Description
Acrylics and gouache fantasy painting of three owls in cahoots in impressionist expressionist style.
The title, "Owls in Cahoot", which sounds wonderful to my ears, was found by my partner Kev Moore. I personally didn't even know the word "cahoots". So, for those who are as ignorant as myself, it means something like
"... To be in league with a crime, or conspiracy ...".
Owls being generally considered as solitary creatures, the title here fits perfectly. If they are together, they must be planning something! But don't ask me what their crime is, or against what or whom they are conspiring: they didn't tell me! But they are going for it, believe me!
I love owls, or let us say, they inspire me artistically. I love the big head, the big wide eyes, and all the feathers. I find them quite spooky too, especially when they rotate their heads, or hoot in the night... their spookiness was enhanced within me after recently watching the David Lynch series "Twin Peaks", where they used the wonderful phrase: Beware of the Owls, they are not what they seem...
